Ed Gordon

Ed Gordon is recognised as one of the leading Fine Art photographers in the British Isles. His images have been widely published, and he has had many of his images exhibited internationally.

Ed’s love of people and the outdoors has led him to travel the world photographing many of the most beautiful and unspoiled regions of the earth for both stock photography and most importantly for the love of photography.

This year Ed will be running a series of photographic landscape and fine art nude workshops in both Ireland and America. These workshops will cover both traditional black and white monochrome photography, digital skills and the skills involved in creating excellent prints, to outdoor workshops were Ed will share all his knowledge of photography to enable each participant to create better images.

In the mean time sit back and enjoy a selection of Ed’s images and enjoy.

About ExploreLight

Ed Gordon

Ed Gordon

From Ireland internationally recognised and award winning Irish photographer Ed Gordon established ExploreLight in 1998.  A desire to explore light as both a photographer and a man is the driving force behind the art on these pages. Ed is best known in the USA for his work as a fine art black and white photographer drawing inspiration from the beauty of the landscape and the female form. His work has been published and exhibited around the world in places such as the Royal Photographic Society and Photo Art International. Yousef Khanafar, chairman of the Photographers Hall of Fame in Oklahoma University and Magnum photographer, remarked, “ Ed Gordon of ExploreLight is the first photographer since Edward Weston to portray the female form with such beauty and intimacy and that is why I felt it important to travel all the way from Oklahoma to Dublin to meet this great artist”. In 2006 Ed decided to team up with his son, and fellow photographer Peter Gordon, to extend the range of imagery available in the ExploreLight gallery and take the company in a new and exciting direction into the supply of fine art for the corporation and individual collector.

A comprehensive range of fine art colour and black and white photography is now available for purchase on-line and through personal contacts, within our photographic gallery. This collection includes landscape photography, abstract photography, portraits and nudes. Our body of work encompasses Irish photography and travel photography from countless trips to places such as America, New Zealand, Australia, India, Laos and Thailand.

The ExploreLight photographic collection cuts genres and breaks boundaries by capturing the beauty of the world we live in and the complexity of its inhabitants and landscape. This body of work draws inspiration from sources as diverse as the West coast of Ireland to the subtle beauty of the female form. It is Ed and Peter’s belief that beauty and artistic connections can be drawn from what often appear to be contrasting origins. Photographic visions are bound together and interpreted by the photographer through their common artistry and grace. Peter and Ed believe in the commonality of wonder. One can find beauty in the female form, on the impoverished streets of Jaipur or deep in the throngs of a wild and untamed landscape in Ireland, USA , New Zealand or Australia.
