WEEK 1

Day 1 of week one saw us head to a beautiful beach just north of Brisbane. In truth I have never seen so many 4×4 wheelers on one beach in my entire life. Ben HEYS organized some great models and great locations and for that and your great company I thank you Ben.

The picture opposite of Cathy and Paula was taken in the water and my NIKON D100 did not like it one little bit. Some hours afterwards it decided that it had enough and went into “on strike mode”

I used a 17 to 35mm lens and sat in the water being buffeted by waves while Ben kept a watchful eye for “great whitye sharks”. Thankfully they were all in the Casino just up the road on the GOLD COAST

DAY 2

Ben and I set off to see Fraser Island some 5 hours up the coast from Brisbane. We got there at about mid-day only to find that the ferry schedule would not permit a sunset shoot and in any event would only allow one hour on the island. what a bummer. We turned around and headed straight back to Brisbane. The weather was aslo a disaster and no shutter clicked fro me today but Ben and I discussed much in the 11 hours we spent the car

DAY 3 Waterfall rainforest shoot

This was the first shot taken that day at the waterfall. We set out at 5am from Brisbane to our location nearly 2 hours away so today was a very EARLY start. The grass shot was the first shot of the morning and given that I was still half asleep and jet lagged was happy with the outcome.

Needless to say we attracted quite a lot of attention on our first day at the beach. Our NISSAN XTrail got one hell of a work out but don't tell AVIS

These shots of yours truly were taken by BEN HEYS

Photo taken by Ben as I attempt to work an angle for the picture I want. In the series of pictures below image of the parrot was shot by my son Peter. Since meeting up with Peter it has become increasingly difficult to find my NIKON D100 and longer lenses.

PICS BELOW taken as we went walkabout in between the drops.
